My friend suggested I call, will this help me?

I find that most people who ask this question will definitely find the help they are looking for.  MFR is relatively new in conversations but not new in theory.  MFR realigns your posture and re-hydrates your connective tissue which helps the body perform at its peak performance.  Thereby returning to a pain free environment with increased range of motion.  

I just twisted my ankle will this help?

Acute injury needs the right type of attention.  A skilled MFR practitioner knows that special care is needed.  There are reasons not to receive treatment that are not always black and white.  Each session starts with a thorough diagnostic evaluation and as specific contraindications may prevent use of certain techniques other areas of the body may receive treatment to be considered useful in the healing process.

What should I wear?

Women can wear loose shorts, sports bra with a tank top and men can wear loose shorts with a tank top.  Blankets are provided if you feel cold.  

Is this Deep Tissue?

Although some of the techniques may feel deep, MFR will not injure the tissue like some deep tissue techniques will.  While some people prefer deep tissue, the theory behind MFR is not to be injurious but rather to work at the barrier and wait for the release without forcing.  This has been proven to be more productive and provide lasting results.

I want to increase my flexibility, will this help?

Connective tissue is a three dimensional, interdependent system of strength, support, elasticity and cushion.  Restrictions in the system affect flexibility and can also cause imbalances and injuries.  MFR techniques are designed to help increase the range of motion and restore the normal quality of motion as well as the body's ability to absorb shock.  Flexibility returns naturally and most often in less time as conventional stretching routines.

What can I expect and will this help me

Most clients say they feel lighter and see a reduction in pain after just one treatment.  Since standard tests don't show myofascial restrictions it only comes into the conversation when other therapies don't work, usually years later.  Scars, persistent migraines and other injuries need daily attention but if you keep the connective tissue hydrated you will avoid injuries and heal faster.  

How many sessions will I need?

I find this can vary for many reasons.  

Sometimes a person can feel 100% better with just one session and sometimes 3 or 4 sessions in a week will prove to make a difference.  The key is to create a plan of releasing the restrictions daily through specific techniques in conjunction with your treatments.  Everyone is unique with how much physical stress they carry and how much demand they carry in their day to day activities.  I do highly recommend that you receive a treatment at least once a month, self-treatment daily and if you are in a lot of pain and discomfort begin with the MFR Intensive.
